But the heading says tropical storm not subtropical storm so I guess we will have to wait for the 11 PM advisory to know what classification they will have but looking at the enviroment in the area it looks not fully tropical.

Yes 14th named storm another very active season that from 1995 the atlantic has seen a very active cycle of seasons.

You're exactly right. If Nicole is named at 11:00 it WILL be Subtropical.

There is NO evidence that this is anything close to a purely TROPICAL cyclone...

I've seen these things say TS Invest with 60KT winds.

Derek, you're right...I didn't remember that the name is supposed to be there before a naming. Case in point, Karen in 2001 had hurricane force gusts even before it became a subtropical cyclone.

Yes Derek you are right about that but now let's see what the NHC do in a few minutes.If they dont do anything then I busted my forecast tonight. :(

Hold the party. The Atlantic doesn't have its first lead of the season just yet. But it's almost a given that it'll happen. They said they'll probably start advisories "early Sunday morning", so look for us to take the lead at 5AM.
