They should be issuing warnings!!!! Right?
Will they issue warnings for the La/Miss/Ala. coast? Especially if it's a TD I know it's kind of late but.....

despite the fact this thing is weak...I think with convection continuing to fire...a TS warning would appropriate...i mean heck...they had TS warnings for Bonnie. I also remember TS Hermine in 98...it looked much less impressive than this as it headed into the same area of SE LA...and they had a TS warning

Many are saying this is "nothing more than a rainmaker or afternoon rain shower". If that's the case, will the NHC still put up TS watches/warnings?

The NHC isn't going to look at it as only a rainmaker. This is a Tropical Storm it will prodcuce winds but not winds that wil ldamage things and such thats why the worst thing will be flooding.

Because if it has 39 mph sustained winds, warnings have to be issued.

Here on the MS coast, tides are already running about 2 feet above normal on the bay side. Rivers are up pretty good too. If they issue a warning, I know it will impact the businesses along hwy 90 because many of them(casinos) have regulations that they must shut down under certain guidelies. Tides above 3+ feet make it dangerous to get on and off.

hey ixolib.ya really think they'll close the casinos?
They've done it for TS before, but this case is a little different. Don't think they will unless there's a definite trend to the north, and pressures/convection close in that pushes the water up. If they do, the decision will be based on forecasted tidal increase - not the wind as it will be minimal.
