Noted that this vortex is taking place as a new deep burst of convection seems to be alot closer to the center, this thing just might ratchet up to a minimal hurricane.

Floydbuster, if he slows down much, I think that 60 prediction could be higher.

Who knows? They might have hit a severe thunderstorm along the way, my goodness there's some screaming SW winds aloft and the convection remains east of the circulation center ... the shear, while preventing the classical look to Matthew, is GREATLY ENHANCING convective bursts around the eastern flank of the center ...

If this were occurring in OK/TX ... can you say "tornado outbreak"?

Will be interesting to read the discussion at the 10pm update. Our local met here in Pensacola did his best to make this out as nothing other than a rain event. I guess people here don't want to think about all that debris sitting curbside could become airborn.
