Rain Rain, GO away, shelters open in LA...
in Terrebone parish due to flooding. Terrebone parish is not protected by levees and there are many bayous and rivers through it (as is most of south LA parishes). The rain is expected to continue possibly into Sunday so the flooding situation is not looking good. The rain is still coming down hard and has been since last night. Ol' Matthew is going to cause many areas some serious flooding problems. A slow moving rain maker can cause be awful.

Well if you want to be like that, why do people live in California when their homes can be flattened by earthquakes in a split second, why do people live in tornado alley, why do people live near volcanoes, etc. etc. These areas of south LA were inhabited long before any levees were built anywhere in south LA. Is everybody here supposed to move out because this parish was left out when levees were built?
Oh here's another one for ya, why do people live in Florida???
