La. Coast Effects????

#1 Postby LSU2001 » Thu Oct 07, 2004 1:05 pm

Any ideas on effects on La coast this weekend. I know lots of rain but beyond that? What type of erosion waves etc can we expect along the coast.
Thanks

I'm not sure how much erosion---it'll be fairly minor, but, they're will be some erosion of the beaches around Grand Isle. Tides could go up to 3, maybe even 4 feet above normal, so, there could be some problems. There will definitely be flooding in low lying areas....

thanks, i am going down to south lafourch parish this weekend and was wondering about effects on the beaches. I have seen some pretty bad damage from winter storms down in that area so i figured that this would be about the same

Maybe a little erosion, but rain, rain, rain, rain and more rain is going to be the major problem.

Blowing a good bit from the SE here on the MS coast, and the tide is up just a tad. Hwy 90 looks like it's got snow blowing across and drifting on the north side. "Cruisin' the Coast" is going on here this week, and a whole lot of car buffs are getting a little miffed at the sand blasting thier $10K paint jobs are getting!!
