Code: Select all

07/1815 UTC    22.1N   95.9W    T1.0/1.0          90  --  Atlantic Ocean

That 1.0 means winds up to 25 kts near the center data by sat estimates. Now recon may find more stronger winds in squalls.

Sometimes SSD puts al90 on any new system...they don't always follow the protocol for some reason...at least not on the web page.

The last TAFB fix I have is old...from 1145Z...but they also had this at a 1.0.

I'm guessing that recon does not find anything but a broad circulation...perhaps with embedded weak vorticies...but I've seen gulf systems that have looked worse than this one get advisories written.

I'd say it's 70/30 against seeing advisories today.
