Floridians - will you relocate?
I'm curious how many of us are considering permanent relocation. I like the Pensacola area, but will look into relocating if I can't get hurricane coverage for next year. I've currently got around $30,000 worth of damage and couldn't afford that kind of loss if I can't get insured next season.

I haven't been personally affected by any of the hurricanes this year. I have, however lived on the Gulf coast or within 50 miles of it since 1953. I totally understand asking the question, but I think for most people the answer will be no. CFL, I certainly understand your thoughts. I have friends all over the P'cola area including some that lost everything with Ivan. None of them that I know of are thinking of relocating, but if I were in your shoes, I would have to think along the same lines. I think the kicker for a lot of people would be job availability where ever they might consider relocation to. It sure would be for me. Of course, it would be a lot easier for some who have lost their jobs due to the hurricanes to make that decision to leave. Of course, the process of deciding to leave also begs the question, what are the hazards where you are going to? An awful lot to consider, at least for some and a simple decision for some others, whether it be yes or no.
