There were indeed some potential thunderstorms just to the west and pretty much moved right over the city, if not literally over the downtown. In fact, there was a Tornado Warning in effect for the Meridian, Mississippi area issued at 4:30 PM CDT, which indicated that the tornado would be near Meridian at 4:40 PM CDT.

There are increase chances for showers and thunderstorms here in central Florida the next three days. The greatest chance being Wednesday with the slow moving (or what will become a slower moving cold front) moves toward and eventually through Florida. Rain chances are 30 to 50 percent for west-central Florida this evening and tomorrow and up to 60 percent on Wednesday.
Maybe some of the activity will be severe, would be interesting.... this still being the dry season across the Sunshine State.

No severe weather per se, but thunderstorms with torrential rainfalls have occurred in Lower SC and the Midlands today -- anywhere from 2" to as much as 5" of rainfall have been estimated by doppler radar. My gauge is over 2" (I have an 11" rain gauge - first 1" is measured, the rest fills into an outer tube which then must be emptied into the smaller tube for measuring. Estimating 3" right now.
