Sorry guys, but I have to interject here. As far as I can see, it's not really a matter of how strong the ridge is, it's a matter of where the western or southwestern edge of the ridge is as the storm nears Florida. I don't think it's out of the question for Jeanne to slow as it nears the Florida coast...as it will then be near the edge of the ridge...and steering currents will become weaker...and more from the SE...thus a turn to the WNW...NW...then N. Check for yourself the upper air charts from the ETA...
