Looks like Brevard will know at noon --
From the Brevard EOC website:
News Release
Friday, September 24, 2004, 9:57 A.M.
IMPORTANT NEWS BRIEFING
A series of decisions--including one on evacuation-will be announced at noon today at a briefing at the Brevard EOC in Rockledge. The county's Policy Group is waiting for the 11 a.m. National Hurricane Center forecast update to make final decisions regarding evacuations, curfews and a local emergency declaration.
Shelter Status
Because no evacuation has yet been ordered, no shelters (human or pet) have been opened. Brevard Emergency Management officials will make an announcement when shelters begin to open. In the meantime, residents are urged to continue making storm preparations and closely monitor news reports.
EOC Status
The Brevard County Emergency Operations Center remains at a Level 2 Activation (partial staffing) preparing for Hurricane Jeanne and continuing recovery efforts for Hurricane Frances.
Tarps
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Roof Blu tarp distribution program has been temporarily suspended.
