Florida-Kentucky football game??

#1 Postby JKing » Thu Sep 23, 2004 9:57 pm

The game is scheduled for 6:00 pm Saturday evening in Gainesville. What is the consensus for gametime weather...if it is not cancelled....

I think whoever takes the coin toss should select field, not first possession. :D

Shouldn't Kentucky just forfeit the game and save themselves the hassle of the bus trip to the Swamp  I would assume the game would be postponed if the current track pans out.

As a former Lexingtonian (almost 20 years) and as a die-hard Gator fan, I agree -- UK should just forfeit the game. We ALL know who would win anyway. :)

It's just a group of guys who go to college there and know the basics of football, so when the Gators from Gainesville come to visit the Bluegrass State, they can enjoy the scenery of the horse farms and then get in a couple of hours of practice. Every once in a while, to save the Florida college some money and let the KY guys get some sun, the UK fellas will go down to UF (like this year) to give them a two-hour practice session.

Gators - 42
Cats - 7

I don't think anything will interfere with a Saturday night game there ...

On a related note, I'm hoping a coalition of Canes fans will get together and buy the stadium at auction ... then paint it orange and green. ;-)

does not matter...Gators will probably screw up again on 1st and goal from the 1 and end up losing the game...and blame it on Jeanne...and/or refs.

Vols 30, Gaduhhs 28...nuff said.

Florida should have plenty of time to get this scrimmage, um game, in before Jeanne.

I do miss Jared Lorenzon, the 6'7 300lb lefty QB from Kentucky.

SEC officials "job" UF once again.
They admit that the call should have been offsetting AND that the clock should have started.
What a shame to let the officials decide such an important game.

No matter which game it is........the trend is for the players to continue to do "really dumb things" and, thus, cost their team's dearly! Their actions, reactions, egos, etc. are definitely out of control.

Gatorzone.com...

#18 Postby N2Storms » Fri Sep 24, 2004 9:02 am

The Gatorzone Web Site has a crawl at the top that says they are monitoring the progress of Hurricane Jeanne and to check back frequently for updates regarding the status of Sat. night's game. They will probably release a statement no later than 1:00pm regarding this game. IMHO they are going to postpone it because there are many GATOR fans who travel from Central and South Fla to the Swamp for the games. GO GATORS!!!!

Nice to argue and flame about football!!! Puts things in perspective. Actually the VOLS\Uf game was an excellent heavyweight boxing match. Kinda knew whomever had the ball last would win.
