This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

At one time he was a very respected met in 92 during Andrew; unfortunately he went into the same “sensationalism” mode most TV mets fall into when a storm is near by. He whipped South Florida into a semi-frenzy when Floyd was knocking at our door. Those who remember his beach forecast when he was hyperventilating about the impending doom.. in the backdrop, a sunny ski and surfers taking advantage of the huge surf. He lost much credibility after that and now his job is just repeating the obvious info, as silly as it sounds to most of us who know already.

Norcross is the best. He knows his way around storms better then anyone I've seen on local news down here - and by far, too.

If Mr. Norcross was on the air with Dan Rather, at least that segment had credibility.

Well, NHC predicted Andrew, as well, of course. My impression is that Norcross is the only guy who took the NHC forecasts seriously.
