Yep! I knew when we were in the cone we would be okay. It just seems weird that it switched that much overnight.

Jacksonville maybe? Well every other part of FL has been hit this year, why not Jacksonville's turn?

Jax was last hit by Dora in 1964.

Us here in Miami-Dade County have not been hit this year. Nor do I wish that we do. Frances gave us rain and wind but nothing even close to hurricane force winds thank God.

I just wanted to mention that Jacksonville felt effects from Frances. There are still many homes with trees on them which have not been repaired or removed. Jacksonville was under tornado warnings, with multiple touchdowns for at least 36 hours continuous. We were on the northern end of Frances' circulation for days, then that pesky fedderband tail that produces so many tornadoes trailed over us for what seemed like forever.

Many people were holed up for 3-4 days, as it wasn't safe to get out on the roads, since trees were beginning to fall at everincreasing rates as the rainfall kept increasing with no letup in the stead 40-50mph winds. We also had gusts to hurricane force in squalls.

There are still huge piles of debris alon roads waiting for a pickup. And, we still have residents who are without power.

This in no way compares to the damage our neighbors received to the
south. And absolutley not in a league with Ivan's terrible strike on the west coAST.

And yes, Dora was the last direct strike on the Jacksonville area.

Thanks,
Zip

I'm not wanting a hit either lol.. But I think it'll go somewhere between St Augustine and the Space Coast.. It all depends how north it is when it makes that jerk to the left..
