GUSTS. MINIMUM CENTRAL PRESSURE... 970 MB
MAXIMUM RAINFALL ACCUMULATIONS OF 10 TO 15 INCHES...WITH LOCALLY
HIGHER AMOUNTS OVER THE SOUTHERN APPALACHIANS...CAN BE EXPECTED IN
ASSOCIATION WITH IVAN THROUGH SATURDAY.
TORNADOES ARE POSSIBLE OVER THE NEXT 24 HOURS IN EASTERN ALABAMA...
THE FLORIDA PANHANDLE...WESTERN GEORGIA...EASTERN TENNESSEE...
WESTERN SOUTH CAROLINA...AND WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA.

Funny how Scorpion just disappeared once the images of the devastation came out... I've been to Jupiter since Frances, and the damage there is maybe 5% of what we are seeing so far in Pensacola...

Unfortunately, it will probably be days before we know the full extent of the damage, just like with Charley.
When we found out how bad Charley was, we knew it was a Cat 4 hurricane.
When we find out all Ivan did, we will know it was at least a Cat 3.

I believe the same reporter(s) you were watching were describing the scene around him and/or her.
On it's closest approach, Ivan's eye passed about 30 miles southwest and west of Pensacola.
