Let us take a moment, while we have one, and reflect on what our dear friend, cycloneye posted just 2 days ago...
The thread with the 100days to season start countdown.

We have to come to terms with our own, inner, child.
We wanted to be eager spectators in the unfolding drama of Mother Nature's awesome power.

Boy, were we ignorant, unsuspecting "fools".

Yes, we wanted a little hurricane party, but we've had some pretty unsavory guests.
Thugs, Visigoths, Barbarians, named Charley, Frances, Gaston and, (of all things) Ivan.
They were not on my guest list.
I just wanted a nice little tea party with Bonnie and Hermine!

I'm sorry, Jeanne, Karll, we have no more finger sandwiches and tea.
