Is Jeanne actually strengthening?

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Is Jeanne actually strengthening?

#1 Postby miamijaaz » Thu Sep 16, 2004 2:16 pm

Based on the latest satellite pictures, Jeanne is looking better and better. Could she actually be strengthening? If so, how could this be when her eye has been over land for most of the day?

She is clearly able to still tap those warm Atlantic waters.

I seriously doubt she's strengthening, but she does seem to be hanging together quite well.

Recon should be in there again pretty soon, I think.

The deep line of convection to her SE edge is an unusual energy dispersal for a hurricane, however, it indicates strong potential...

right now, no. Later on, possibly. It appears to be moving Northwest again out of hispaniola and if it is, then I will eat my crow for calling a dissipation in Hispaniola. the NHC has been wrong on occasion too, its part of being human. no one can predict what a storm will do. Its basically defied both my and NHCs tracks so far.

Stuck in the Middle with You by Steelers Wheel? "Clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right".... well, this year in Florida we're stuck in the middle of Hurricane Central. And after 3 storms, I'll bet we're not finished.

"Is it cool to go to sleep on the floor?
I don't think that I can take any more."

Maybe the song was about passing time in hurricane shelters... :D
