Sure the majority of us may go with the UKMET. However, the overall forecast for Ivan is to stall across the southeastern U.S. As a result, a tremendous amount of rain is likely to occur.

The forecast is calling for up to 20 inches, if not more in some places in the next several days.

Oh shoot. DUH.... Now I understand it. Thanks for explaining and reminding me of the stall. That is why they look all wacked out.

the model tracks have been indicating this for a few days. I was perplexed then too. What is /could be pushing it back?

A blocking area of very strong high pressure across the New England area. The pressure Tuesday at the National
Weather Service in Taunton, Massachusetts was around 30.40".

Ivan's got about 10 possibilities. He can stall, go north, head out and back into the Carolinas, and even model support for him to come back into the Gulf in front of a backing high. It's tough to say what's going to be what and a +1 for the first one to figure out the Ivan/Jeanne SE US pattern for next Monday.
