I am suppose to leave tomorrow morning to travel to Auburn, Alabama for the Saturday afternoon LSU/Auburn game. The University of Auburn has yet to make a disission on the game stateing they will wait til tomorrow (Friday) before they will make an announcement about the game. Anyone have any input on what kind of damage is/will be around Auburn University. I would hate to get in my car and drive all the way over there and the game be canceled, or stay home and they decided to play the game. They have stated that if it is a convenince concern only then they WILL play the game. They do not want to move the game. ANy weather insight would be appreciated.
P.S. I LOVE THIS BOARD!!!!!

I don't know about the game, but I'd check on road conditions-- and whether emergency crews and returning evacuees will need priority access to the roads and highways.

Actually.......it's AUBURN UNIVERSITY.
I'm going to the game.
They will not make a decision to cancel the game until in the morning (Friday) around 8am cst.
Right now......things do not look too bad as far as having the game is concerned. The rest of the state has yet to go through the storm. It's about 100 miles South of Tuscaloser right now with winds of 80mph.
I'll let ya know when/if I hear anything.

JMGNole:
Schools are closed, but this does not include games.
Alabama may move their game up to 2pm if electricity is an issue.
No word on game cancellations yet.
I'm watching.
My spouse plans to go to the Alabama game.
I'll be at the Auburn game.
All high school football, on the other hand, is canceled in Alabama this weekend.

Daughter attending Auburn. Earlier this morning they were bunkered down in the dorms. According to friends in Montgomery they are getting 50 mph gusts presently but are expecting more severe weather as the day progresses. Here in West Mobile we just got our electricity back up but it is flickering so we don't know if it will stay or not. Came thru the storm with loss of about 10 oak trees but no other damage. Neighborhood looks like a war zone with trees down on houses and in yards but it looks like no major damage here. We were blessed!
