IVAN is unraveling

He's doing what Frances did. The energy from the core and eyewall is being displaced into the large feeder bands.

The strong winds are being displaced from the center. I think you will find extensive damage along the Florida coastline from Pensacola and Destin tomorrow.

TWC just showed a movement that looked like a jump to me on the radar from Alabama over toward Pensacola.

Is this a burp in the radar, or can a massive storm like this 'hop' to another location?

Radar is filling in a tad to the South of the eye and it did jog to the NE on the last frame of my radar loop.

I'm hearing lots of damage reports out of the Mobile area on the radio now. Trees are snapping... trees are falling on roofs of houses north of Mobile (Chickasaw area), roofs are failing. It's sounding very bad, y'all!

And I just checked the radar for the area where I am now. I've been so busy checking back home, I almost forgot that we are going to face some nasty weather up here, too. Looks like we're going to be getting some heavy weather in the next couple hours.
