Ivan will go over Mobile Bay and not Pensacola

#1 Postby Stormcenter » Wed Sep 15, 2004 11:29 pm

After a wobble to the east earlier this evening Ivan is again taking dead aim on Mobile,AL. Believe or not my brother said they still had power but conditions were going down hill rapidly.

I just talked to my mother in West Mobile via cell phone. Incredibly, they still had power, too. The worst is yet to come, I'm sure.

This is where the real action begins. The next few hours are going to be so dangerous for the Bay.

A little right.

Anderson Cooper from CNN is ducked down behind a 600 pound planter on the 4th story roof deck of his Mobile hotel. You can see the wind whipping over his head like jetblast. He said the other planter already rolled by...

From the current radar loop out of Mobile, it looks to me like Ivan will go right in between Mobile and Pensacola. Pensacola gets the nasty end of that, of course, situated to the NE. I bet Mobile will be somewhat happy to have gotten a *little* bit of a break (assume the current trend holds).
