I just talked to Jeremy!!! I told him to get his rear out of there now and head for the bridge. There is law enforcement there and they can tell him where to go for shelter. I also gave him my cell number in case he needs to call me. I know right where he is and he does need to head out, it is under mandatory evacuation. He is about 2 miles from where my parents used to live. It isnot bad where they are right now but it will deteriorate quickly in a few hours. I emphasized that to him. I hope he heads my warnings. Keep us posted.

I quote, "we're not worried". My response was "We are and you need to get out of there now before it gets too bad" I know what the conditions are in his area right now and they aren't too bad yet. I didn't tell him or you earlier, that there has already been one tornado reported about 5 miles east of him earlier this afternoon.

Keep us posted if you talk to him again!!!

David, can't thank you enough for your help! S2K folks are simply the best. His mom says "thank you," too. We though an impartial call might get him moving -- hope so.

*wipes forehead*

Okay, thanks! I was checking the radar and wondering. I know KY's not supposed to get much of Ivan as a TD until Sat/Sun. So I wondered how KY was in an HH thread. :)

I hope Dixie's Jeremy is okay. :)

This is going to sound flippant, but it isn't. I do only what I would want others to do for me in the same situation. I also do what I feel my Lord would want me to do.

Others on this board have offered me help with my mother who is about 30 miles NE of where Jeremy is. Call it returning a favor.

What you are seeing happen is WHAT STORM2K IS ALL ABOUT and we intend to keep it that way!!

vbhoutex,

I never took it as flippant. And quite frankly people that really DO care about each other is the only type I keep around me. The world has a shortage of them it appears sometimes and it is really nice to see that there is good amoung Storm2k!

Have been reading here for a couple years. One of the reasons I finally registered is because of the common decency towards one another and how quickly trolls are taken care of.

Do hope Dixie's Jeremy will be safe. :D

sounds like it all worked and glad s2k came to the rescue. their is very valuable lesson here. you can see the amount of time and energy taht was spent on one person that said "were not worried". Now multiply this by 100's or thousands and you can see the problem it creates for govt officials. Everyone on this baord is well informed and please do your best to convery to people the seriouseness of these storms. Jeremy could have got lucky this time..maybe next time and it happens he or someone else wont.
