a local nws forecast discussion...cant remember which state/zones... mentioned the possibility of stronger than usual tornados with ivan (typically hurricane tornados are F1) because of strong shear (turning with height in severe weather terminology)....
lets hope this isnt proof of that and things to come.

So far no confirmation from ABC 13, which seems to be more concerned with tornado activity to the SE in the Mexico Beach/Port St. Joe area.
Walton County stretches from the Gulf (small spendy beach communities) to the Alabama border between Destin and PCB. If you've seen the movie Truman Show, the beach town they used for the set, Seaside, is in Walton County.

Research after Camille indicated there were probably more than 200 tornados spun of of her. But like a previous poster stated, they are not the Oklahoma or Kansas type. But, I guess if you're in the wrong place, at the wrong time, a flying 2X4 will just the same inflict enough injury to cause serious harm.
