I had to stop reading this board earlier this morning because I was so upset with news it could become Cat 5, again. But, I am so glad I checked back in to see this! Thanks so much for all your prayers. Please continue to offer those up for all the people in its path. I've been checking in with my family and friends still in the Mobile area. They are very anxious for what this night will bring, as are those of us who evacuated. Your prayers are just wonderful!! Thank you so much!!!

Dear Heavenly Father,
Please be with those in the face of danger and fear during this hurricane season. I pray for those in the path of Ivan and Jeanne and any other storms we have this season. I have faith that God will keep us safe. Please, please, help everyone understand the importance of following safety precautions and evacuation instructions. As a Hugo survivor, I know how terrifying these storms can be and the importance of leaving when you need to. May God Bless You All!

Dear God -- We know that these storms are for a reason, and we are willing to sacrifice our buildings, homes, and businesses, but please do your best to keep your children safe ... even the ones that chose to remain in their homes.

And if you could make sure that everyone gets a few hugs during the terrifying night and through the tears that will surely fall afterwards, that would be a big plus.

Thanks

I am not known a religious person -- however, I give my thoughts and prayers to everyone in the path of this monster. My dad is in the FWB/Destin area and I pray that he and everyone in the way of this monster make it through.

Reciting Psalm 23 has always given me comfort in tough times; ' For Thou are with me.'

Please, heavenly Father, let your comforting presence be felt by all in the path of danger.

Again, prayers sent from Florida. We have weathered both our storms, and our hearts go out to those in the path of Ivan now.

My prayers for all of those in the path of Ivan, and for those of us who are watch and wait with fear and trepidation. Let us all know that the Lord has a plan that is beyond our understanding and comprhension.

I have to tell you that I haven't been able to check this board all day and have been very concerned about my family that did not evacuate in Pensacola. But just before 3pm, I was driving alone and very upset and started praying along with all of you, even without knowing that you were pryaing with me.

Thank you all so much for the support.

With God all things are possible. Please God weaken this storm and protect all those in its path. Protect my sister and her family.

KBBOCA,

I loved that prayer you shared with us. Perfect for this situation.

May all those in harms way trust in the Lord who is our High Tower and our Strength.

May all the needs large and small be met for those who will be without when the storm finishes its destruction.

Lord, keep your children in the strong fortress of your mighty hand. Calm the storm, or calm your child. May those who stayed, as well as those who left all, find in you the strength to conquer fear now, and find comfort later, when the storm has passed. From Psalm 18 (the tornado and hurricane Psalm?): "The Lord is my rock , my fortress, and my deliverer. My God is my rock, in whom I take refuge... the torrents of destruction ovrwhelmed me... He reached down from on high and took hold of me, he drew me out of deep waters..."

Just came back from work. It was very busy today, but I have been praying in my mind all the time for those poor people in Ivan's path and will continue to do so.

May you be safe at all times, and may your losses turn into winnings!

God I ask that You would take the death and destruction out of this storm as predicted:
