2 threads about basically the same subject really isn't necessary. Why not just create one? It helps keep some of the other ones from falling to the bottom of the page so fast. Thanks!

as for the no way this will be cat 5 (and i said the same thing 3 or 4 hours ago)....the WV shot is very disconcerting right now.....and considering the history of IVan and his cycles......never say never...

Yes to some of us it is a masterpiece, however a VERY DISCONCERTING MASTERPIECE!!!

Unfortuantely, what both canegrl04 and I(I know there are others) have been saying could happen appears to be happening. I truly hope it is not, but I have looked at several different types of sat pics and radars and they all tell the same story. The eye is tightening and the convection is building more and wrapping completely!! Sure looks like a strengthening phase to me and he is right over the warm eddy too. I'm not sure about CAT5 but I surely would not rule it out. I still think at landfall, which I have now moved into agreement with NHC, we will see a Moderate(if there is such a thing)CAT4 in the 140 mph range.

yes.....much rather see these masterpieces in the mid-atlantic....

im very interested in the next recon......i have to assume pressures are dropping rapidly....wouldnt be surprised to see 931....
