Ivan eye on Mobile radar... slowing or stalling maybe???

#1 Postby ZZ3Astro » Wed Sep 15, 2004 9:58 am

This doesn't look good for those of us in the Panhandle of FL.. To me the movement has really slowed in the last 45 mins as of 10am. A lot of people here are dropping their guard as the media has been focusing on N.O. and Mobile..

Also in Panama City we've just received the first real gust of wind.. not sure of the official speed but I sure heard it from inside!

I posted my concerns last night. I'm afraid that Ivan will do like he did in Cuba and stall and ease in and out before landfalling. Just scoot in and out down the coast. He sure showed a propensity to not like crossing land on several occasions. Also, he is positively picking up strength and doesn't seem to be weakening.

Maybe this will help:

Everytime they add a new frame they drop the oldest frame. This gives the illusion of slower movement.
