the latest hurricane statement is NOT based on updated data, the only data they get is the same which is available to all of us on the web: recon flights
by the time the next flight gets in there it will have 4 hours since our last data, take a look at what sat. images have depicted over the past 3 1/2 hours for an idea of the trend
hint: the trend is not one of weakening
