Jeanne has some bite

#1 Postby Ola » Wed Sep 15, 2004 1:14 pm

Right now the center is about 20 miles south of me or less. Shoud change wind direcition any minute now. Things are flying everywhere. Just heard the National Weather Service Director from San Juan say they are having reports of 90 and 100 mph gusts here in PR. Sustained outside right now looks about 60 to me, with higher gusts every once in a while. PR does not have enough terrain or high enough to weaken it as it goes through. Ill report later if I still have telephone with flood situation.

gut feeling - if this thing gains enough latitude to miss DR after its exit from Peurto Rico we may be dealing with another SE US threat in 4-7 days by way of a Cat 1-3 storm. If this baby is already producing gusts in the 90-100 mph range as is being reported. . .

Looked like a hurricane at landfall.

My intensity forecasts may have to be bumped up tomorrow.. Sounds to me like she's definitely a decent storm
