ALabama Zoo

Why would people want to build a zoo 1 mile from the coast? They were just reporting on Fox as to how they are moving these animals. Why would they put them that close anyway? :idea: :yayaya:

somebody built new orleans which is under sea level.

it is all about the $$$$. Tourists to the coast can pop in to the zoo too! Poor animals can you imagine how freaked they must be. :(

Sean_from New Orleans-said early this morning that he didn't hear or see one bird all day yesterday in NOLA. Said is was pretty eery.

New Orleans was the gateway for the French to their own Louisiana territory. There's no other ocean port on the Gulf Coast which is also connected to the biggest and best water highway to the interior (Mississippi River). Historically, ports in New Orleans position are the most sought after and profitable. From New Orleans, the French could send goods anywhere from Pittsburgh to the Great Lakes region and even to thier fur traders in Canada. Trading economics compounded over 3 or 4 centuries makes New Orleans the big city it is today.

But you probably already knew that. So never mind my preaching.
