Is FLA off the hook eith Jeanne
All models have Jeanne going north thru the Bahamas, do I actually need to worry.

Please allow me to answer your question.
I live in central florida and have for over 50 years. I've seen many many storms come up the coast.
This year has been a strange year with two major hurricanes hitting Florida and now a thrid one up in the NW area of the state.
Most storms curve up the coast and go either up to the Carolina's or out to sea. only about 5 percent of the storms actually affect Florida.
Andrew and Frances being exceptions.
It is much much MUCH too early to say to ou not to watch the storm Jeanne. Anytime there is a storm heading this way you need to be aware and monitor it. We are NOT out of the woods but neither are we necessarilly in harms way.
I hope you understand what I'm trying to say. History dictates that the storm probably will pass harmlessly to our East 100 miles or more off the coast. However, during hurricane season it is prudent to be aware and prepared just in case.
