I'm well inland. We're prepared as much as we can be. No structual damage here, just maybe some trees and powerlines. I live about 150 miles east of the projected path.

That's what I'm afraid of. They are forecasting 40-50 mph sustained winds all day Thursday and Thursday Night with gusts in the 60-75 mph range.

Looks low to me too, unfortunately. NHC has it over West Alabama about 100 miles west of here as an 80 mph hurricane, probably 50-60 mph sustained here with hurricane force gusts. I'm pretty sure we're going to one of my relative's house who has a basement. Be better than here...

The basement is only in case of tornadoes. I'm going to be on that side...

I hear ya Camille....I'll be at work tomorrow morning, so I might just decide to ride it out there. Good, nice sturdy new building. Right on the bay/river.

Good luck.

Atlanta just got the reminients of Frances and it knocked power out at my Dad's house for the day and they seldom have power outages. Also lots of flooding and trees downs everywhere, narrowly missing my father's and sister's cars. That's why I've been tracking Ivan, cuz Ga, SC and NC can't take much more rain right now.

Also, you got resources stretched thin with a lot of power crews in Fla. helping out there. Just make sure you got plenty of provisions. Good luck!

I'm not going to be in the worst possible scenario(right by the eye). If I were... probably hurricane force sustained, what is expected is bad enough. I'm hoping to get away without any prolonged power outages...

Yes. I'm grateful for that. :)

I'm really hoping this stalls or weakens faster than the NHC says or the wind field isn't as large when it gets here. I'm a good 150 miles east of the center on the current track, so maybe it won't be so bad.

Very worried about flooding though. :(
