King of the Weather has a good point. They are spread out pretty far and it will be a long time before I reach Hurricane status.
Maybe you could set it up so that all posts in the weather related forums could count double and if its a really good post it could be counted triple

As far as the other suggestion. We can't give a different weight to posts in one forum over the other. All posts count the same.

Tropical Low = 1
Tropical Wave = 100
Tropical Depression = 250
Tropical Storm = 500
Category 1 Hurricane = 1000
Category 2 Hurricane = 2500
Category 3 Hurricane = 5000
Category 4 Hurricane = 7500
Category 5 Hurricane = 10000

Before I read this I was a bit shocked...thought I was seeing things when I saw the depression status under my name...kinda like going to bed when a storm is a depression and waking up to a hurricane :lol:
