Also, does the NHC change their timing based on storm location? I've noticed the advisories on Ivan have recently shifted to CDT. Doesn't that make things even more confusing?

Time/Speed Conversions?
Forgive this newbie question. I'm pretty comfortable with Mb ranges, but as a born and raised English system adherent, I can't do knots vs. mph very well in my head, and although I know what Universal time is all about, again the conversion doesn't come quickly. Anybody have any simple desktop software that makes these conversions (mph to Kts/Local time to Zulu), or do ya'll simply have it in your head at this point.
