That's tenths of degrees, but yes it did.

It did that from 7A-10A and then went .3/.3 in the next three hours between 10A-1P. Now it went back to .5/.1. Will be interesting to see if the trend holds.

Good point WeatherNLU. Because from the last advisory and the pinpoint plot on the Goes-12 IR & Vis, I've got it at 24.37N, 86.92W which is .17N and .26W. As noted on CFHC, it will be interesting to see when the westward momentum is gone and how far west it got by then. That will be the big key for everyone east of New Orleans as to who gets it and how bad.

Just got back from Lake Pontchartrain Bonnabel Boat Launch. Winds were gusting in the mid 20's and all the water was piling up from the east. The levees there don't look so high from the water side when the water's piling up. Ny-ah-ah.

I am pretty familiar with the NOLA lakefront on Ponch because I love the seafood places on the lakeshore when I visit family down there.

If the storm hits say Gulfport head on, will the potential strong north winds and surge from the gulf going into the lake Ponchatrain from the Gulf be enough to push the Lake over the north lip of the bowl and into the the city?

If it goes in, say at the Pearl River, I would guess it would definitely be a problem?

Steve, are you one of the 2 Steves that fish at the lakefront (Big/Little Steve)?

Well, it definitely looks like it has more of a westen component at the moment. If I was in Southeast Louisiana, I'd defintely watch to see if it's just a wobble or trend. I'm no expert (lol), just calling it like I see it.
