End of North Movement?

#1 Postby CYCLONE MIKE » Tue Sep 14, 2004 4:06 pm

Sorry to start a new topic, but the latest WV loops look rather interesting. Check out how Ivan looks to be getting flattened from the north and is expanding more to the west. IMO he is bumping into the ridge and will go more NW'rly real soon. I could be totally off, but I think it is worth mentioning.

Why would Ivan go east?? if not north, I'd expect NW.

Just a wobble doesnt really indicate much.... Please keep the wobble threads to a minimum. Thanks!

What concerns me is that Ivan has shown that it does not like to cross land. What if it does a bounce and reverse up and down the coast. Is that possible?

I don't think he's talking about a wobble- more of a flattening of the line to the north across the storm.

I see it as well- but it doesn't look very strong. Holding judgement for now.

Eep! Lets be cool with it everyone.

The reason why I personally think NW, is the storm has only moved westward, not eastward... and the pattern hasn't changed. Whatever has been keeping Ivan from going east, still remains. The further due north, the more it might go east later, but I don't see the possibility of eastward motion.. but I'm not a met. Just a reasoned observation

http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/PS/TROP/DATA/RT ... -loop.html If you watch the loop you can see it flattening out a bit better than if you look at one frame :)

I think it looks like that because of an improving outflow. :(

The Atlantic Ridge has been building and then backing off for awhile now. Currently it is moving northeastward away from Florida.

Each time I look at that loop I see different things.....sometimes looks like the NNW wobble....sometimes more of a northern wobble
