Wish me and all who live in Puerto Rico luck as this storm wants to be more strong as it passes over my head.I dont know for how long I will be on-line tonight when the winds will begin to pick up in Puerto Rico so my friends dont worrie about me because I will be in a safe place and dry.I say to all of the members that will be affected by Ivan good luck and be safe.

Am I the only one who doesn't get all that upset with TS and cat 1 storms? They only seem to cause significant damage if they stall and dump massive amounts of rain.

I see those types of winds in thunderstorms 4 or 5 times a year with little or no major problems. Maybe a short term power (1-5 hours) outage and street flooding.

If Jeanne were headed directly at me, I would NOT be upset and my only concern would be tornados or a last minute unexpected rapid intensification.

Is there some special problems in the Caribbean which imperil people in such mild weather conditions (relative, not absolute)?
