ZACK, unless you can substantiate the one concerning NO, please do not post such. It has the possibility of affecting millions more than the mandatories for the areas South of NO. And I realize it is a probability too, but for something that substantive I would like to see proof please!!!
BTW, my prayers are with you and all the rest who are packing up and leaving today.

FIRST let me say that this information is NOT OFFICIAL. I have a brother who works for the Alabama 911/Emergency managemant department. His info to me was that sometime early today, everyone South of highway 98 in Alabama will be advised to evacuate. IF it appears to them that the storm could hit as a cat5, the evacuation area will extend all the way north to I10. If you stay inside one of these areas, no assistance will be rendered during
the storm. There is still confusion whether or not the evacuation will be mandatory.
Just want to give my fellow South Alabamians a heads up that this COULD occur.

I live in Destrehan (St. Charles Parish) also. If Ivan stays on it's current path, what can we expect as far as wind and water? What if it shifts more west of the projected path? We are under a madatory evacuation. Husband does not want to leave. Thanks for any info. Stay safe and God Bless!!!
