I had to laugh because I've not seen 'Fort Pierce' on many maps. It's always WPB, Miami and then north to Melbourne or Daytona and Orlando.

It was there when I made a landfall prediction (and that's all it was -- a prediction -- being the non-met I am
) --

Is that where the official "landfall" occurred? I've never heard....

Yeah, the 'eye' actually made landfall in Sewall's Point in Martin County; however, St. Lucie and IR county felt the effects on the north side of the storm, for sure. (Palm Beach felt the effects of the south side of the storm.) I'm in north Fort Pierce and we didn't get to experience the 'calm' part of the eye. It was solid rain and wind for hours upon hours.

Fort Pierce is known for Jai Alai......and a place to get gas as you move North on Fla's Turnpike or I-95.
