I've read that the true catastrophe scenarios for New Orleans involve a storm coming at more of a NW angle than Ivan will have. And it's obvious why on the map when you look at the approaches to Lake Ponchatrain.
So my question is: considering the direction that Ivan is coming from, how strong will it have to be to breach the levees?
Is it true Ivan's direction will spare NO true catastrophe?
