NHC track changes are killing me!!!!

#1 Postby MGC » Mon Sep 13, 2004 10:12 pm

This morning it was AL/MS line, then this afternoon it was Pensacola, now tonight it is a little west of Mobile! I can't stand it! I had trouble sleeping last night and I doubt I can get a good nights sleep tonight. I'm afraid to what I'm going to wake up to on Tuesday morning. I just with the boys at the NHC would all agree on landfall soon. Please pardon my rant.....MGC

It's Ivan who won't make up his mind, not the boys at the NHC. :) I understand everyone's nerves are frayed right now...

MGC, I'm right there with ya. Just about frozen in fear. I just keep trying to plow through packing/prep and hoping for the best.

It seems to me that the cone is getting more narrow and they are getting a much better idea of where the storm will hit.

I hate to tell ya, but the points you mentioned are pretty close together, meaning that a storm of this magnitude, it's not going to make much difference at this point. But noone can tell you exactly where it's going to hit until hours before and I do believe that wouldn't do anyone any good. If you are in the cone, make plans to leave.

Also, I hate to say it, but when they are this close at a landfall location for 3 consecutive advisories....especially at 3 days out or fewer....they are usually pretty accurate. AL/MS line to Pensacola isn't far....maybe 50 miles.
