Special Bulletin WLOX Ms. Warnings issued all the way from..
Local met WLOX in Biloxi just came on and showed the watch area issued by the NHC. The area includes Morgan City, La to about the middle of the Florida panhandle. Our local Met "Mike Reader" seemed to be pretty concerned. He was a Met here at keesler AFB prior to taking the position with WLOX. I have met him on several occasions and he is a very well informed meteorologist. Mike knows all the men that fly the missions out of keesler for the hurricane hunter aircrafts so he is pretty plugged in to the latest info. ( on and off the record) My point is that he seemed pretty concerned this evening regarding a track that comes very close to Buras, La, and then north or northeast from that point. Similar to path of "Camille 69" .Timing of trough was discussed as imperative to any NE movement at landfall or just prior to landgall. Again, he seemed to be concerned about the NHC issuing watches all the way past Morgan City, La. It pretty much put Gulport / Biloxi area right in the middle of the warning areas.
