Does anyone have any data on potential deepening of Ivan into tonight? Sub-900mb seems unlikely but interested to know how low he can go.

I am so jelous of the people in Ivan path. We never get canes in california. Lucky people in its path. They will get to experience one of the strongest storms ever. This 910 news only makes me more jelous.

Hello all from NE Oklahoma.

What is the record low pressure in an Atlantic (GOM?) hurricane? I am curious how Ivan compares historically. I was a kid when Camille came ashore but we took a family vacation the following year across I-10...I still remember the shrimp boats inland of the highway - where the houses were before.

Is there a direct relation between pressure and wind velocity?

Gilbert had the lowest mb on record, right ?

So Ivan would have to go below 888 to
break the record... is this right ??
