Ivan's outflow connects to the trough over LA, MS, AL

If this jet really gets going, it could strengthen the storm.

It also suggests there is not much ridging (if any) left to the N and NNE of the storm.

Hard to say... if the ridge really is gone, you could see the forecast shift east a bit.

Saying this, of course, will engender the immediate wrath of the AL/MS/LA crowd, so prepare yourself. :)

Yes, wouldn't the trough work to "ventilate" the system to the north, expanding it's outflow??
