Those heavy outer bands surging into Florida seems to me an indication of an easterly trend down the line:

The thing is, every storm I've observed tends to eventually go in the direction of the strongest outer bands. They just do. Let's hope there is a change in the banding soon -- for the sake of the Peninsula.

I guess a lot depends on that ridge and how it builds. We are NOT letting down our guard here in W. C. Florida!

It was hardly an eastward shift you guys, and it was done by a person (Stewart) who has consistently been most east....

I doubt that the outer bands really have much to do with an impending landfall. Im thinking of a Apalachicola or a little west of that for landfall.

This is not good. We are getting rain from it now on East coast central FL. If it's moving away from us, it needs to do it soon.

Heck, Ivan's off the western end of Cuba, and the Bahams are even feeling some of his rain.
Ivan is a monster, and, at the evry least, he's done damage by the disruption to our lives in Central Florida.
Now if that isn't enough, it looks as is he's gonna do major physical damage to North FL.
