" 6AM WED - 28.1N; 89.7W - 170 KTS - APPROACHING SE LOUISIANA "

Read the thread...That forecast is rather amazing... sheesh...the guy made a mistake and didn't disclaim, or do they really think he was trying to pull a fast and fraudulent one? So accurate it's eerie...If it lands in Louisiana as he predicted, I hope the forum admin. at least acknowledges his accuracy? In fact, I just might IM him and find out what he thinks!

For one thing that coordinate is still in the GOM, but that would put you on the "bad side". It would depend on the direction Ivan was heading when it passed that point as to how bad it would be.

That point is about 50 or so miles S of SW Pass of the MS river.

Everyone think this is eerily accurate, but didn't *everything* predict Ivan going into the GOM and then up back then? It's just that this guy hasn't posted since, so he hasn't had an opportunity to shift East and then back West.

No actually, most model guidance early on had Ivan going north of or through Hispaniola and into eastern FL. The GEM is the only model that has been in the Gulf for the last week. Now everything has shifted west and they continue to do so. From a week ago, that is probably the best forecast we've seen.

Well, yeah, but not *everything* predicted south of Jamaica and through the Yucatan Channel with CAT 5 winds.

Where'd the original go?
