I don't mean to laugh or be rude, but the satellite tracking has adjusted, not the hurricane. Look at the whole image, and you'll see that everything jumps north. It also jumped east about an hour ago.

Beat me to it. I was going to say the satellite is wobbling.

Still not north of Cayman latitude

It should be very evident that Ivan has not moved very far north, as he still is not north of the Cayman latitiude line yet.

Yes we keep going through it...lol. Anyway, I didn't mean EVERYTHING shifted north...sorry about that. Every cloud mass shifts north at 1940, then back to normal at 1945. Satellites wobble now and then and have to be corrected.

We seem to be starting a new thread every time it giggles. We need to stop this. Stop making NEW threads everytime you see a wobble. There are plenty (dozens) of movement threads to refer to instead of starting a new one everytime it wobbles two miles to the north.

Maybe we should have a "Current Movement" thread and sticky it. Then...any observed wiggles can be placed into that thread...instead of having a dozen movement threads a day.

Where's the fun in that? Clearly, waiting a week before making any posts regarding direction would improve their accuracy, mine included, but that's not really the point of this board. 1 or 2 frames, I'd agree. But 3 or 4 hours of motion is enough to reasonably *speculate*, which is what this board is all about.

Air Force Met, that's a great idea! A sticky "current movement" thread would be perfect.

:-) 3 or 4 hours is almost the 6 I mentioned (and significantly better than the 1 or 2 frames commonly speculated upon), so sure. That's fine. Speculate away.

AFM, I tried to make that thread yesterday and it didn't catch on. Unfortunately, people just want to repost the same stuff over and over again.

Thank you ;)

Now, that said, I do see the sat wobble, but in the last frame, everything BUT the storm jogs south in oreintation to land except Ivan. I know at this point something like that is basically splitting hairs, but I am seeing it.

We'll have to see what unfolds in the next hours.

Haha....this is getting funnier and funnier!
Can't we have one thread for all the shakes, wobbles and rolls?

It's kind of funny, really. Not only can I not count the threads on this subject, but also I can't count the posts complaining that there should be only one thread on this subject. :-)

Well Said - Just let the board do what it's gonna do. Come December, it will be quiet as a mouse and collecting dust!!

Well, this could be. If my calculations are correct. The system seems to have slowed to only 6 mph. Lets see what the 5:00 advisory says.
