I see the "WeatherNole" on a regular basis and tend to leave the details to the pros. But have a go at these links. Could the dry air digging toward the south be the "mover"? Will Ivan get close enough, soon enough?

with current wv I don't see Ivan getting that far west in the us. Now yucatan is a different story. But with a trough coming down you would expect Ivan to be picked up now, and latestest sat pics shows hardly any movement to north. If it does get into gom even if the trough leaves it behind hi pressure will build behind it and ivan would be forced back ne around the high out east, that has been eroded away
