Behind Ivan

#1 Postby Huckster » Sat Sep 11, 2004 12:20 pm

In no way do I want to try to downplay Ivan. There's nothing to downplay, and it looks as bad as ever for the Caymans, Cuba, and eventually the U.S. Nevertheless, I thought I would point out that there are two strong tropical waves in the central Atlantic, headed west. Just pointing out the possibility that before Ivan is gone, something else might try to get going. Unfortunately, I doubt Ivan will be the last storm striking land somewhere this season. This season will definitely be remembered for a long, long time.

I can't believe how active this season has been. Has a season ever been this active? Or is this normal other than the constant threats to FL?

In 1995, we got down to the T name and were way ahead of where we are now. The thing is... most of the storms that year didn't affect land. That's what makes this year so rough. The last time Florida was hit by 3 hurricanes in one season was 1960, so it's not unheard off, just hasn't happened in awhile.

Moldy, what are you talking about? These kinda condescending, groundless comments seem to really be wasting space. All I did was make a comment about some waves. Calm down.

Huckster, your poins is good - the season runs until November 30. We just happen to be at the statistical peak of the season.
