Negril Webcams
The webcams are still up and running at Coco La Palm Seaside Resort in Negril which is experiencing the brunt of Ivan right now. I pray for the safety of all the residents of Negril and West End. For the person with family at Sandals in Negril, these webcams are about 3 miles south on the 7 mile beach from Sandals Negril.

Need Java
They require Java to work correctly. I am watching them right now....they have 3 operating cams, one on their beach pool, the other in their courtyard. Unbelievable!

My wife and vacation at this resort at least once a year and have made many friends there. It is a sad day for us to see the havoc being forced upon this little resort community. I pray for all the Jamaicans and especially the ones we have befriended over the years. They have a strong resolve and I am positive they will pull together and put Negril back together.

I noticed in lots of the media coverage of various places during the past several storms, that VERY FEW homes and/or businesses were boarded up. I hope the insurance companies are requesting copies of these tapes so they can see who did and did not take any risk mitigation steps to protect their stuff. I know we offered to cover up some huge windows across the street with extra wood we had and the guy said, no thanks. let it blow. that's what insurance is for. ACK!!
