It really was a very special night of sharing and praying for our Jamaican friends. I hope they all, somehow, are making it through with their lives.

watching the news this morning and see the destruction.. One thing you have to understand is that ALOT of the houses in jamaica are nothing more than wood sheds or them alumimun ones you see around behind people houses.. My tobacy barn in my back yard is sturdier than many familys houses in jamaica. but also they are showing much studier big houses with roofs missing and just blown apart... sad... :(

The station that created all these pages (27!!) on this thread last night is not presently broadcasting. Anybody know of any other stations in Jamaica with live streaming audio? How about in the Caymans?

The radio broadcast was amazing...very sad it went down...been listening to this for any possible news...haven't really heard anything though :( it's ham radio operators looking for updates out of Jamaica ...don't be surprized if you start listening to hear nothing ...It very very quiet on here but every few minutes someone jumps on requesting info.

These people are quite inspiring... They certainly have the potential to let us see things through different eyes.

What wonderful wonderful people to stay so positive...they are on the air with new york..there has been a fund set up in new york to help. "the jamaica spirit is high even though Hurricane Ivan is pounding the southwestern part of the island" "the report we have recieved.... is that we have lost roofs all over the island" the weather conditions on the eastern part of the island are easing somewhat..there are still tropical storm winds and rain....central part of the island is there are still strong winds and rain..word from montigo bay is they are having difficult weather conditions there....2 casualties so far and very little looting... overseas there have been reports of looting ...Ivan may have gone mad but jamica has not...the greatest need right now is for food

He says the phone service has been holding up well...many are going to need housing assistance but will want to get back to school and basically..daily lives. They want everyone to remember Grenada.
