? on tracking of Ivan...
Could someone please explain in simple terms how it is that Florida is the most likely target? I really don't understand too much about the weather. But it seems to me that this cane would have to make a sharp turn to the North soon to hit Florida. Like I said, I don't understand too much about the weather and how highs and lows interact with storms so if someone with more knowledge could explain it to this south texas gal, I could probably sleep easier knowing I wont have to worry about Ivan...

a weakness between two high pressure systems creates a steering channel for ivan and florida is in the vicinity. the track is all dependent on the strength and position of the two highs.

whats more important than now is the future and the forecast is for the high in the atlantic to retreat back east and a new high building in from the west...in florida we do care about conditions now but what is more important is the positons insay 48-72 hours as too who gets it. I can;t beleive I am saying this but I suggest you watch THC at 50 past the hour on their tropical update..they SHOULD break this down for you or keep watching the boards. TWC willkeep it nice and basic and if want full detail than stay ont he boards today as their will be more than enough info than you need.
Cheers
